We’re in the final phase of our #clientmarinaoverhaul project; picking furniture and accessories for all rooms with the living room being one of our last to tackle. The entertaining area of this home is an open concept so the look we’re creating needs to be cohesive with the kitchen and dining areas. Although this client likes to keep things clean and simple, he is also fun and daring and likes to push the design boundaries, especially when it comes to color.
For this living room, we’re going for a warm and welcoming look with clean lines and ethnic undertones. This room is both den and living room so a large, comfortable sofa was the first item we needed to purchase. Gus Modern is always a great resource for modern, comfortable and masculine sectionals. Our client loved this piece right off the bat so we built the rest of the room around the sectional. We layered a smaller vintage Moroccan rug over a seagrass rug to add color and coziness and the acrylic coffee table allows for the rug to shine. The hanging pendant and the Wegner chair compliment each other nicely, and bring a natural element to the space to add warmth. Fun pillows and the furry ottoman will finish things off and add a punch of color and texture to the room. I always love to incorporate a plant whenever possible and a hearty Fiddle Leaf Fig is the right choice to fill an empty corner, especially since our client travels a ton and needs a plant that can basically fend for itself.
